edit, re-edit, send, re-send, repeat

LISC Phoenix's grant proposal that I have been apart of has been accepted by LISC National's internal process. HOOORRAAY!!! Such great news! The past couple of weeks I have been consumed with helping edit the current proposal into DOL's (Department of Labor's) criteria so that LISC National's Grant writer can compile all of it. The final Grant will be submitted to DOL September 29th! So as you can guess things have been pretty crazy trying to gather all the requirements. It has been a good experience to gain valuable knowledge and understanding of writing a grant. The end result is what will be rewarding! Send good energy LISC's way!

This entire process made possible by the above!!!

Labor-Less Day

Anyone who knows me, knows I have an obsession with “going to the lake.” It is pretty much my second home. I love how the lake is naturally relaxing and calming. Of course it only makes it a 100 times better if you are enjoying it with the people you love and care about. For Labor Day a group of friends and I got together and went to Bartlett Lake. I have added some of the pictures from our lake trip. Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day.

Wakeboarding is my biggest obsession with the Lake!

The Flagger!

I am so intune with the water, I can walk on it!

The Boys showing off their tubing skills!

Getting ready for tubing!

These are the moments we live for!

In Summary

Hello "blogosphere." This is my official “blogspot” where I will be documenting all of the details for my internship with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). For you viewers it is a “LIST” of “ANSWERS” for all you may want to know in regards to what it is I am doing.

First off, I want to give you a little insight into what my Intern entails. LISC, in collaboration with CDCs (Community Development Corporations), helps to identify local priorities and challenges in distressed, low-income neighborhoods, delivering the most appropriate support to meet local needs.
Currently I am helping write a grant proposal to leverage funds for a program that will provide green job training to low-income individuals, ex-offenders, high school dropouts, and those severely affected by the economy.

I will continue to keep you updated. Please feel free to comment or ask any questions. I will have the answers! If you are interested here is the link to LISC Phoenix: http://www.lisc.org/phoenix/about_us/index.shtml
